Questions, Answered

Everything guests usually ask before a week aboard Allegra. Something else on your mind? Call or email us any time.

How much does a week aboard Allegra cost?

Weekly rates run from $32,000 for two guests to $35,000 for eight, all-inclusive. For a group of eight, that works out to about $4,400 per person for the week. Shorter trips of five days or more can be arranged; ask us for a quote.

What is included in the rate?

Everything aboard: your captain, your private chef, all meals and drinks from the ship's bar, fuel, dockage and mooring fees, cruising permits, and all water toys including snorkeling gear, paddleboards, water skis, wakeboard, and our floating hammock. Complimentary drone footage of your week and onboard WiFi are included too.

What is not included?

Crew gratuity (customary at 15–20% of the charter rate), your flights and travel to Tortola, and any premium wines, spirits, or special requests beyond the standard bar. We are happy to quote anything specific before you book.

When is the best time to charter in the BVI?

Our season runs from November 1 to July 31; the boat is laid up from August 1 to October 31. December to the end of April brings the steadiest trade winds and the driest weather — that is peak season and books first. From May to the end of July it is quieter on the water, a little warmer, and easier to book on shorter notice.

How many guests can Allegra take?

Up to eight guests in four private queen cabins, each with its own bathroom and shower. The layout works equally well for four couples, two families, or a group of friends.

Is Allegra good for families with kids?

Yes, and most of our family weeks are the ones guests talk about for years. Calm, short sails between islands, a swim platform at water level, snorkeling gear in every size, and a chef who happily cooks for picky eaters. Kids under sailing age are welcome; just tell us ages in advance so we provision right.

Do I need any sailing experience?

None. Allegra is fully crewed — your captain handles the yacht and your chef handles the galley. You are welcome to take the helm and learn, or never touch a line all week.

Where do we sail?

Our home base is Village Cay Marina in Road Town. From there we sail the British Virgin Islands: Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke, Anegada, Norman Island, and the quiet coves in between. Every itinerary is built with your captain around your party. The US Virgin Islands and St. Martin / St. Barths are possible for an additional relocation charge.

What if someone in our group gets seasick or has dietary needs?

Tell us ahead of time and we will plan around both. The BVI's protected waters are some of the calmest cruising grounds anywhere, and most passages are under two hours. Our chef menus every week around allergies, diets, and preferences.
